Go plastic call for Poole after pub glassing horror

THE glassing of a 28-year-old nursery nurse has led to renewed calls for Poole pubs to ditch glass and serve drinks in plastic.

Plastic glasses handed out to boost pub and club safety

About 10,000 plastic glasses will be given to licensees in Daventry and South Northamptonshire to help make pubs and clubs safer.

The polycarbonate pints were rolled out across the south of the county during the new year while a "traffic light" system to monitor pubs, which was first trialled in Northampton, has also been introduced.
