Advantages of Plastic Glasses

Broken Glass

Plastic glasses have a number of advantages over standard glasses due to one of the main characteristics of glass, it cracks and smashes very easily and this leads to many other issues.

• Broken glasses need to be replaced on a regular basis and this can be expensive.
• Broken glass is sharpe and needs to be cleaned up. It can be a safety hazard if left on the floor.
• Glass, broken or otherwise can be used as a weapon.

Surveys have shown that most glass broken in pubs and nightclubs is knocked from a table or dropped from around waist height. * Test carried out by Surrey University show the durability polycarbonate and other forms of plastic glass.

Breakage Test *

Polycarbonate plastic glasses are virtually unbreakable which means that they need to be replaced less than standard glass and are a safer alternative. Recently the UK largest nightclub operator Luminar has gone glass free with Chief executive Steve Thomas stating

"..the introduction of polycarbonate containers had also slashed cleaning costs by 15% while reducing the possibility of violence inside Luminar bars and clubs...". more
